Creighton University’s Pipeline to Success Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) has partnered with the Creighton University EMS Department and American Heart Association to offer our students the opportunity to participate and receive Basic Life Support (BLS) certified training.

About the event
Creighton University’s Pipeline to Success Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) has partnered with the Creighton University EMS Department and American Heart Association to offer our students the opportunity to participate and receive Basic Life Support (BLS) certified training which will adequately prepare our future health professionals with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to respond in emergency situations. KEYWORD: Certified – each HCOP student that participates will receive an official BLS Certification. During the training, each HCOP student will gain muscle memory as well as critical thinking and problem solving skills required to be ready to respond to life-threatening emergencies. HCOP students will also learn how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and swiftly assist a choking victim.

TIME: 8:45 A.M. (PROMPT) – 12:00 P.M.
NOTE: This certified training occurs during our regularly scheduled HCOP session (as stated on each student’s HCOP Program Session Calendar); therefore, this event is mandatory for those who are not BLS certified or seeking recertification. HCOP staff and HCOP participants will travel together “on foot” to the Creighton University - EMS Education - Old Gym/Vinardi Center – ensure promptness at the location listed above, be sure to wear loose-fitting clothing that will allow for hands-on floor activities, wear your HCOP ID badge (mandatory) and close-toed shoes.
