Saturday, April 27, 2019, was Session 6 of Creighton University's Pipeline to Success - Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP). Students in the Health Careers Ambassador Program participated in the 2019 Center for Promoting Health and Health Equity (CPHHE)’s 12th Annual Addressing Health Disparities Seminar. The focus of the seminar was addressing mental health disparities. Students had the opportunity to hear from prominent leaders in the community speak on the prevalence of mental health disparities in Nebraska and discuss ways to mitigate these disparities. Breakout sessions in the afternoon allowed students to learn more about mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and self-care.
