While the keystone of the HCOP Structured Summer Program is the enrichment classes that occur Monday through Thursday, students take a break from their books each Friday to take part in activities that serve to further build a strong foundation for their future careers. While the COVID-19 pandemic has moved HCOP to a virtual space, the enrichment experiences continue!
This summer, HCOP participants will have the opportunity to take part in the following activities as a part of “Friday Fun-Day”.
Friday, June 11th
Team building and icebreaker activities.
Cultural Competency workshop with Program Director Dr. Sade Kosoko-Lasaki.
Friday, June 18th
Financial Aid and Financial Literacy day with EducationQuest.
Virtual clinical experience #1 with BodyInteractTM Virtual Patient Simulator, led by cardiologist Dr. John Stone, MD.
Friday, June 25th
“A Day in the Life of a Health Professional” series, with rehabilitation counselor Mary Reece and respiratory therapist Tia Tellgren (both from Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals)
Virtual field trip of Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital’s Omaha, NE Campus led by occupational therapist Tyler Pribnow.
Mock ACT or SAT for high school participants.

“A Day in the Life of a Health Professional” series, with caseworker Linda AlSharif of Heart Ministry Center and Celeste Baumert, inpatient physical therapist and cancer program manager for Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals.
