HCOP Upcoming Activities (June-July)

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Training with Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare and Speed Mentoring

On June 8th, 2019, HCOP participants will have the opportunity to participate in two awesome program activities. The first opportunity is a QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training with Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare. As future health professionals, HCOP participants may someday have to discuss mental health wellbeing with a patient. This training equips individuals to be able to discuss with a person who may be considering suicide. In addition, students will have the opportunity to be a part of a speed-mentoring event, where they will get to meet real-life health professionals from across various healthcare fields, ask them questions about their professional and academic careers, and share a little about themselves as well.

Luncheon and Awards Ceremony

On Saturday, June 22nd, Spring 2019 HCOP Ambassador Program participants will celebrate their hard work and close out the program with an awards luncheon. This session will be held at Creighton University (Mike & Josie Harper Center – Ballroom, 602 N 20th St, Omaha, NE 68102) from 12:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. and will include a luncheon and awards ceremony for distinguished Spring 2019 HCOP participants. Additionally, guest speaker Diane Ulmer, OTR/L, will present on how an interdisciplinary team makes a difference in a patient’s life.
