Up Next!!! – 2021-2022 Health Careers Ambassador Session

The Creighton University Pipeline to Success Health Careers Opportunity Program continues to keep the safety and health of students, staff and community partners a priority while many in the world receive COVID-19 vaccinations, COVID-19 variants begin to surface, and a large portion of the youth population still remain unable to receive COVID-19 vaccinations. And with that being said, the HCOP team has decided to use this upcoming academic year (beginning in the Fall of 2021) as a ‘transitional year’ as we head back on the road to normalcy on Creighton University’s campus; therefore, we plan to continue programming for our upcoming session in a virtual space. The HCOP team is gearing up for yet another year (Year 4 to be exact) as well as another programmatic session - the 2021-2022 Online Health Careers Ambassador Session. And yes, you read correctly, we will continue to provide a safe, interactive, engaging and fun environment to students in a virtual space.

To provide more insight into what our upcoming 2021-2022 Online Health Careers Ambassador Session will look like – the session is an 8-month, every other Saturday program (only 3 hours each of those Saturdays) that provides a plethora of academic and professional enrichment opportunities where students partake in various health-related workshops, professional development seminars, online mentoring, standardized test preparation, online homework support, virtual clinical shadowing, virtual field trips, etc. - sessions are to begin October 2021 – April 2022 (stipends and scholarships included).

The 2021-2022 Online Health Careers Ambassador Session will not involve additional academic enrichment courses (which our summer program offers) as students are more than likely enrolled in academic credit-courses at their host institutions during the session. It is important to remember that the 2020-2021 Online Health Careers Ambassador Session was designed to complement a student’s present coursework and provide academic/professional support along the journey to success.

Applications for the 2021-2022 Online Health Careers Ambassador Session are currently being accepted. We plan to recruit 25 high school students (juniors and seniors ONLY), 25 undergraduate students (2-year and 4-year) and 10 health professional students – kindly click the link below to apply NOW!
