Zoooooommmmm!!! – Mental First Aid Training – Health Professional Student Workshop

The Health Sciences – Multicultural and Community Affairs (HS-MACA) Department along with the Center for Promoting Health and Health Equity (CPHHE) and the Center for Holistic Development developed a 3-day workshop aimed at the topic of Mental Health First Aid. In addition, this workshop not only focused on specific mental health related content; it also focused on how to teach the content to other health professionals - better known as the Train-the-Trainer model. Who gets to participate – all eleven (11) HCOP Health Professional students via Zoom - an online video and audio meeting application?

HCOP would like to give a HUGE thanks to the workshop facilitators - Ms. Doris Moore (Founder, Center for Holistic Development) and Mr. Errik Ejike, MPH (Program Supervisor, CPHHE) for spearheading an awesome workshop for the HCOP students.

Here’s just a glimpse of what HCOP students got to cover during the workshop:

· Mental Health Statistics for Youth, Adults, Local and National

· Specific Mental Health Diagnosis Definitions

· Integration of Mental Health Practices in Medical, Dental, OT, PT, and Pharmacy Practices

Check out the screenshots below us of “Zoom”ing during the workshop:
